To participate in our program you must be either a Regulated Provider—licensed or registered through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)—or a Relative Provider.

Steps to Becoming a CCA Regulated Provider
Relative Care Provider
Eligibility Requirements:
As a Regulated CCA Provider (licensed or registered with DFPS), you are responsible for meeting and maintaining the following requirements:
- Having a license or registration with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) as a Licensed Child Care Center or Licensed or Registered Child Care Home
- Signing a CCA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreeing to abide by the terms of the MOU, and following procedures outlined in the CCA Provider Manual.
- Maintaining DFPS Minimum Standards at all times
- Reporting any changes in the location, licensing status, or general operation of the facility to CCA
- Keeping records on enrolled CCA children
- Tracking attendance for CCA referred children
- Reporting absences of CCA children
- Collecting and documenting parent fees; reporting any non-payment of fees
- Invoicing CCA for services provided either once or twice a month
- Supplying requested documentation during monitoring visits
Steps to Becoming a Regulated CCA Provider:
In order to become a Regulated CCA Provider, you will need to gather the following documentation, complete the necessary forms and submit them to CCA:
- Copy of your Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) permit
- Copy of your rates for child care for all age groups for which you provide services.
If you serve school age children, please be sure to include:
- rates for before and after school and
- full time rates for school breaks and summer care
- Copy of any official document that shows your Employer Identification Number (EIN) used for tax purposes for your facility and the name it is issued to
- Complete the following Forms: (forms are in .PDF format; download by clicking on the name of the form)
- Provider Data Worksheet
- Documentation of Fees (list all additional required fees)
- W-9
Relative Care Provider
A parent may choose to use a
relative of the child as their child care provider. An
eligible relative is an individual who does not reside in the same household as the child, is at least 18 years of age, and is, by marriage, blood relationship, or court decree, one of the following:
• the child's grandparent or great-grandparent;
• the child's aunt or uncle; or
• the child’s sibling.
Individuals who are listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Sex Offender Registry are not eligible to be a relative care provider.
